Delft Blue
The Delft Blue collection contains 44 pixelated artworks, inspired by the Delft Blue pottery, which has been produced in the Netherlands for over 300 years.
These artworks portray natural scenes, like birds, flowers and insects, depicting on one hand a Romantic view on nature, and on the other hand a human-centric approach by reducing them to decoration. Some of the delft blue artworks include animals and insects that were not originally present in Delft Blue pottery, because they were not considered decorative, such as spiders and flies.
The pixels symbolise the bridge between traditional and digital art, emphasises the dynamic nature of heritage.
